"due to" and "owing to"

今天晚上在看一个东西，有这样一道题目：
() I had lost his address, I did not know where I could find him.
A. Due to that
B. Owing to that
C. Due to the fact that
D. Owing to the fact that
选啥呢？
有些东西感觉真的好无聊，我以为只有我才会为这2个词纠缠不清。google了一下，其实不然，很多人也没搞明白这2个词是啥区别。通过google 以及查了一下牛津词典，归纳如下：
（1） 在表达because of 的时候，2 者意思一样。
（2） 在 be ＋ 的结构语句中，用due to，其他用owing to。
The actor’s success was due to his wife
事实也不绝对，只不过考试的时候这2条是真理
因此本题选择D。
书后面的解答就不付上了，误认子弟的教材。
